A few days ago I decided to give away 1000′s of FREE eBooks on this Group which I previously set up on Facebook.  Within two days it attracted over 200 members!   The download link was then emailed to all members which basically redirected them to my landing page where users could download the folder.  All I asked in return was for the members to sign up to the Rat Race Winner RSS feed.

I have had quite a few people doubt this offer was genuine; this is a common reaction when someone does something for free or gives away products for no charge.  In todays World it’s ‘every man for himself’.  But anyone who is a regular to Rat Race Winner will know I like to give (for free), whether it be advice, knowledge, experience, ideas or even products and service.

The End Result

This good deed shows that the Power of Giving has been a fantastic way to increase site traffic, boost RSS subscriptions and, here’s the best bit.. Circulate the Rat Race Winner PDF eBook.  (This was done by inserting my eBook in to the downlaodable folder.)  As a result my eBook now gets circulated virally, 24 hours a day!.. Genius!

The people downloading win by receiving free eBooks they can sell on for profit, I win by getting my eBook circulated and subsequently more visits to my site.  Its worth mentioning as well that the eBook simply promotes this site and contains links to various articles.  Download your free copy here.

How This Marketing Idea Was Devised

Over the last few years I have built up a collection of eBooks on a multitude of topics.  Most of them have Resale Rights.  In fact I now sell them singular or in bulk on various websites including eBay.  They make me a very good income.

A few weeks ago I then had a Eureka moment whilst relaxing in the bath. (I get most of my ideas whilst soaking)!  I figured by giving away something for free, which would allow other people to also make some money, these people would definitely be interested in then learning how to escape The Rat Race; the end result would be more traffic to RatRaceWinner.com, hopefully people feel obliged to return the favour!
