The Best Ways To Make Money Online

Become an Affiliate Marketing and Sell Other People’s Stuff

Affiliate marketing is in my opinion the easiest option as it does not require you to have your own products to sell. It’s the fastest and simplest way to start an Internet business.  It’s especially good for those new to online business and Internet marketing.  To make money from this method you basically follow this procedure.

  1. You join a merchant’s affiliate broker like Affiliate Window or Clickbank.
  2. You select a Company’s product or service to market and you place your affiliate link for that program somewhere on your website or on someone else’s (a blog, forum etc)
  3. When a visitor to your site clicks through that link and buys a product (or fills in a form, or gives the merchant an email address, etc.), you are credited with the sale (click, lead, referral) and then you make a commission.
  4. The affiliate Company then sends you the payment soon after.  Clickbank is especially good as they provide the payment service so you know you will definitely not be cheated out of any sales!  Most affiliate brokers also provide a complete analytics and reports so you can track which advertising method is producing the best results.

Sell Products in Online Auctions

Everyone has got a unwanted gift or item that is no longer needed.  And with the advent of eBay and other similar sites you can now advertise these items to a Worldwide audience.  The advantages of eBay are you don’t need your own website and is relatively cheap to advertise.  You could even buy eBooks off Clickbank (dependant on the resale rights) and sell them in an auction.

Create and Sell Your Own Software or E-book

The most lucrative way to do business online is to create your own product. Software and information products (E-Books for example),are by far the easiest to distribute as they cost little to produce apart from your own time, plus the distribution costs are relatively low due to it being an electronic product.

Anyone can write an E-book, you simply need to have a skill, talent or piece of wisdom which will benefit others.  So long as it is unique and fresh then people will be interested.

Dropshipping

Drop shipping is a product delivery method in which the seller accepts payment for an order, but the customer receives the product or products directly from the manufacturer.

Buy and Sell Domain Names

This is a very specialized method of making money online.  Most good domains have been taken already.  It is possible however with a little forward thinking to buy domains which will be wanted in the future.  For example, I recently saw a documentary on television about the recent breakthroughs in technology.  One of these inventions is a clever fridge which tell you when produce is past its use by date or even when you are running low on a certain food.  Hence I registered www.cleverfridge.com with a hope a manufacture will buy in the future.  This domain is parked at the moment but I probably design a simple website so that it gets picked up by search engines.

Cash Park Your Domains

Parking a domain means you list it with the likes of NameDrive or Sedo; they then give you a simple one page layout which is just filled with adverts.  When someone clicks on an ad this then creates revenue. It is actually unknown as to how much of the revenue you collect.  From my own experience it is very low!

A lot of people buy domain names and think they can park them and make thousands.  This is not the case.  In most cases parking domain names doesn’t even cover the domain registration fees.

There are other options for parking domains which include WhyPark; this site provides a simple way for domain name holders to build a simple multi-page website with Pay Per Click add words.  You can actually add some content to the site so it increases the chances of the viewer returning.  Normal parked pages tend to have very little revisits.

In addition when someone clicks on advert via your ‘WhyPark’ site you then get to keep the majority of the revenue.

Online Surveys

Through gaining an understanding on how consumers think and why we choose certain products, enables companies to improve their goods and services.

The more they understand consumers, the more money they make. Every year, companies spend billions trying to convince consumers to buy their products and services, and a huge amount is devoted to market research.

A good place to start if you want to make money by completing online surveys is Cashcrate.

This method does provide you with an income, but it is not automated.  If you don’t complete the survey, you don’t get paid, thus handcuffing you to your computer.  If you want to maximize on life you need automated income.

Become a Reseller

This is another good method but costs an initial outlay.  The plus point is that you can make more money.

Sell Public Domain Works

Public domain is any work that is not copyright protected and includes materials created prior to 1922, works created for public use, government documents unless otherwise specified, and works whose copyright has expired.

This method is very similar to reselling eBooks and some online marketers have made a fortune finding, repackaging and selling public domain works.

The real trick is in being able to find works in the public domain.

Buy and Sell Websites

This is otherwise know as ‘flipping’ and I urge anyone to consider going down this path to tread with caution.  If you visit Sedo for example and search for websites for sale.  You will see there are plenty to choose from but don’t be fooled by massive monthly visit statistics.  They can be manipulated.

I would only recommend this method if you are prepared to do plenty of due diligence before you buy.  It also helps if you know how to produce good websites which dont just look good but convert visits to sales.

You can make money by buying a website with proven visits, giving it a face life by making certain essential improvements, and then selling the site on.  This technique is pretty much like buying a rundown property, refurbishing it and putting it back on the market for more money.  The principles are the same, but you need the experience and the know how, otherwise you could loose big!

Sell Your Own Services Or Products

Many programmers, writers, graphic artists and data entry workers sell their services online through sites such as Elance.  Elance is basically a site which marries customers to service providers.

If you can find a product to sell you could set up a e-commerce website.  For the last ten years one of my engineering Companies sells a specialised product used in pumps called a mechanical seal.  The company’s website is www.acumenseals.co.uk which brings in hundreds of worldwide enquiries each year.  Online activity now accounts for 50% of this business.

Summary
