How To Plan And Set Goals
Goal planning is an important process enabling you to highlight where you are today, where you want to be in the future and how to motivate yourself to turn your visions in to a reality. If you do not target your ambitions and aspirations you will have no direction and without direction you will be lost in life and The Rat Race.
Another key feature of goal setting is that it helps you to pinpoint where you need to concentrate all your efforts. And by achieving your goals; as you cross each one off your confidence and frame of mind will improve drastically. There is no better feeling in life than moving forward by accomplishment of tasks and goals.
Another Free Gift From Rat Race Winner..
If you desire to escape The Rat Race it is highly important you design a set of clearly defined goals and ambitions. You need to either write these down or enter them in to a spreadsheet. They must then be pinned up somewhere visible so you can quickly refresh your mind what needs to be achieved and by what date, and also what has been accomplished so far.
When I first sat down to set my own goals, it was hard to find any free spreadsheet templates on the Internet. With most things online there is always a cost. This is not the case with Rat Race Winner. Every download and all the content is completely free. I have added my spreadsheet template to the server so feel free to download it by clicking here.
The Power Of Focus
Every single successful person in life sets goals. Whether they are businessmen or even sporting professionals. By listing smaller more achievable goals, as you complete each one they will ultimately bring you closer to fulfilling your ultimate goals.
If you set an ultimate goal of visiting every single country on the planet; this is obviously an enormous ambition and is not something you could plan over night. The thought of undertaking the logistics alone would put most people off the idea from the start. Therefore it is important to focus on smaller bite sized goals like the first month would be for country research. Second month you could price flights. Third month you could price hotels and so on.
How To Complete Your Goal Planner
If you have downloaded the free goal planner, you will see it is basically in two sections. The first step in creating your goal list is to set your ultimate goals which you want to achieve in five to ten years from now. These are your life time goals and are your ultimate targets to aim for. Every decision you make from now on will either steer you towards or away from these goals!
To give you some initial ideas and inspiration on what to write here I have provided below some bullet points.
- Artistic:
Do you want to learn to sign or play an instrument. Do you want to see if you have hidden artistic flare, maybe try painting or pottery?
- Attitude:
Are you dissatisfied with the way you control your temper. Do you lack confidence? Do you have little motivation?
- Career:
Do you want to excel in your career or start your own business?
- Education:
Do you want to learn a new language? Study psychology or philosophy?
- Family:
Do you have a partner? Are you happy in your current relationship? Do you want to start a family?
- Financial:
How much do you want to earn per year and by what stage?
- Physical:
Are you out of shape? Do you want to learn martial arts? DO you want to run a marathon?
- Pleasure:
How do you define having a good time? What makes you feel good? What or who makes you laugh?
- Public Service:
Do you want to donate a percentage of your earnings to charity? Do you want to donate your time to good cause?
Make sure you spend time on this as these ultimate goals are your starting point for your bite sized goals. Make sure you set achievable goals and that they are in your interest and bespoke for your life.
