You leave home early in the morning and you get back late. Your partner’s complaining and the doctor has reservations about your hypertension. That’s not a good idea.
Life’s driving you crazy. But you can’t escape it because you need the money to pay the bills.
Perhaps you’re harnessed to someone else’s operation, but the same applies. Oh dear, oh dear. You’re into busy-ness, not business, aren’t you?
How the heck did you get into this mess in the first place? More importantly, how do you get out of it? Truth is, you’re a workaholic and this reality follows you everywhere you go.
The universe runs on rhythms. There’s constant movement of the stars and rotation of the planets. Night and day, endless waves. Sleep and wakening. The constant beating of your heart. Dislocate any of these patterns, and you court disaster.
And that’s your problem, isn’t it. You’re not allowing your mind to rest. I guess your work is keeping you awake at night, and has become the sole subject of your conversation. You’re in one-direction mode. No wonder you’re frustrated.
Ever wonder what sundays are really for? They’re to rest up, and set the busy world aside so we can meditate. The idea originated in the book of genesis four thousand years ago. That means that stress has been with us for a long, long time.
I’d like you to try something different for me.. I want you to create a different rhythm for yourself, by introducing little Sundays in your life all day long. Get up from your office chair to greet a colleague at least every hour. Chat to customers. Find out how people really are. They are so special. Appreciate them.
Take your lunch-breaks too. Get the hell out from where you work. Have a picnic in the park on sunny days while you catch up. No parks where you are? Then walk down unfamiliar city streets observing interesting things instead.
In other words, gift yourself with time. You’re not supposed to be busy every moment of the day.
Work robbed you of these opportunities for rest. Wrestle them back. Restore the balance. Use this time management tip. You’ll be more effective, when you gift yourself with time. And remember this fact, alternating periods of rest and activity is necessary to survive.
