Escape The Rat Race

Escape the rat raceEscape the Rat Race and the 9 to 5 life style NOW!  Don’t procrastinate any longer.  The Rat Race is a treadmill that never ends; and never actually gets you anywhere!

To escape the Rat Race you will need a solid set of goals.  Without goals you will never be able to fulfil your dreams and ambitions and finally leave the Rat Race for good!

Follow these points to get started immediately, your underlying mission is to build up multiple streams of passive income.

  1. If you have no business experience book yourself on some master classes.  Your local government will have lots of free schemes available.  The government needs new small businesses as they are the lifeblood of the economy.  In my ten years of business I have been on at least fifty free classes.
  2. Look for government grants.  Sometimes these are 100% funded or even match funded.  In total my businesses have been awarded over sixty thousand pounds in free grants and support.  Help is out there, but you need to network and be in the right place at the right time.  Government support is very much first come; first served!  If you are UK based like me the first place to start is with your local Business Link.
  3. Get good advice from a mentor or guru.  You will at some point in your business life meet a successful individual who will be more than willing to assist you to reach your own dreams.  This individual may also have had a mentor when he or she first started out, so they will know how tough it is in the early years when establishing yourself.  No doubt when you are also a success you will become a mentor and guru also.  This is Karma!
  4. Write a solid business plan. Without one, your bank will not entertain you.  This topic alone deserves its own post.  Sign up to my RSS.  I will be uploading my template business plan which has had a 95% success rate for me; its absolutely fantastic and well worth downloading!
  5. Raise money. Don’t depend on your credit card to carry you in the early stages.  See point 2 above.  Failing that the cheapest loan you can get is of friends and family, your second port of call is your bank manager (see point 4 above.)
  6. Don’t immediately quit your day job until you have a suitable level of income coming in elsewhere.  Read this for some ideas on income.
  7. Develop self-discipline. It’s a lot harder to meet demands you’ve imposed on yourself than those of a 9-to-5 employer. It requires a hell of a lot of self-motivation and organisation.

The sooner you start, the happier you will be.  I left the Rat Race over ten years ago; I will NEVER run the race again!
