It is important to have an understanding of computer specification, because using information technology and computers effectively can help you become ultra-efficient. And by becoming efficient you will be able to find time to maximise on your strengths; which will ultimately release you from The Rat Race.

This is quite easy to remember is me use the metaphor of a modern office; the size of your desk relates to the size of the RAM (Random Access Memory) and so the bigger your desk (or RAM) the more projects you can work on at the same time.
The size of the hard drive relates to the size of your filing cabinet. The more draws you have (Hard drive file size) the more paperwork (or files) you can store.
And finally the central processing unit (CPU) relates to the person sat the desk. The smarter the person the quicker the paperwork on the desk (RAM) can be processed and the quicker the files within the filing cabinet (hard drive) can be accessed and filed.
The Difference between RAM and ROM
ROM stands for Read Only Memory which means that data has been factory installed onto this type of chip and can only be read by the CPU. Data can not be sent to the ROM as it is read only.
RAM stands for Random Access Memory which means that data can be sent through this type of chip and so long as power is being provided to the circuit the data will remain within the memory. Once the power is switched off the data contained within the memory will be lost.
How To Fix Most Computer Errors
The vast majority of computer errors can be fixed by simply switching of the PC for five minutes and then rebooting (switch back on). In fact this principle works for most electronic devices including routers/modems.
Failing this the next course of action is to try ‘System Restore’ which is an option within the ‘Accessories’ menu on Microsoft Windows. It basically takes your PC back to an automatic restore point taken on a previous day. It only changes the software and settings back to this historic setting, all your files should remain unchanged.
