Achieving a Well Balanced Life
Whether you exercise for fun, body build for muscle growth or just train to simply keep fit, having a healthy body is as equally important as having a healthy mind. Many successful people excel in their work yet neglect their body and health. It is very important to have a well balanced life, but life within The Rat Race is always at a fast pace and trying to pack a session in at the gym is always difficult.
If you actually do none of the pre-mentioned then I hope this article convinces you to get healthy, and that you do not need seven hours in the gym of hard intensive training to build the body you have always wanted.
The actual benefits of good exercise far outweigh the hassle factor of undertaking a training program. And today is always a good time to start! Do not procrastinate.
If you are stressed or felling down, do just ten minutes of exercise and the chemicals released (endorphins) inside your body give you a ‘feel good’ factor and the motivation to tackle life’s problems.
The ethos of this site is to show you how to build multiple streams of income, maximize on life and eventually become a Rat Race Winner. Being a winner isn’t just about wealth, it is about contentment, enlightenment, learning and being healthy. Most people who are stuck in The Rat Race have neither of these assets.
When I first started in Business, I neglected my health terribly. I missed breakfast as I was always in a rush to beat the traffic in the morning, I sometimes skipped lunch because I was too busy and then for evening meal I was that famished I ate junk food.
I attempted to exercise twice per week but never had the motivation to go consistently. Although I was achieving great success with my business; my body was seriously neglected.
As I progressed in my empire building, along the way I was learning constantly how to find shortcuts to complete tasks. Shortcuts to some people are deemed corner cutting, but not to me. I look for systems or techniques to reduce the amount of time taken to undertake a task, and where possible I either delegate a task or automate. Thus giving me more time to use my own strengths to leverage greater success. After time using this process I was able to finally step back from most duties and concentrate on improving my mental and physical attributes. But even on this I still constantly search out shortcuts to get me to the same end place.
With regards to my own fitness, two week ago since writing this post I stumbled upon a little know study called ‘The Colorado Experiment’ which was conducted in May 1973. This experiment concentrates on high intensity, quality movements of the major muscle groups. I started my own experiment based on this and have so far gained 4lbs of muscle and have seen an increase of up to an inch on my arms, chest and legs!
Being a hard gainer and having a true ectomorph body structure, these results are fantastic. I have previously tried just about every body building routine possible, have paid thousands to a personal trainer and took supplements including creatine; none of which gave me anywhere near the same results.
After numerous failed attempts to bulk up, finding a routine that work on me was a major event in my life. So I have written other posts logging my own journey from skinny geek to Hunky Geek! Having been bullied at school for being slim and underweight I only wish that I had stumbled on the experiment as a teenager. I hope you find these particular posts informative and helpful and anyone who tries the same experiment please post your results and findings below.
As always on RatRaceWinner.com this information is free, there are no ebooks to pay for and download and no hard sell of any products… SO ENJOY!

Very sound advice Mr. Sykes. However, you left off one more most important ingredient to a balanced life – “The Spiritual Component”. If the body building nut case that shot up 15 innocent, helpless and unarmed women from a health club south of Pittsburgh (LA Fitness) where we reside and killing 3 as well as himself had a better balance on life, this tragedy would have not happened. Should you desire to have the perfect balance of body, mind and spirit, I’ll be more than honored to direct you to the most satisfying, enjoyable, peaceful and comletely rewarding spiritual journey of all. This is the most important component that I am guessing that you may have overlooked.
Excellent post Lol.I am guilty of concentrating too much on work and my belly reflects this.I have read your other post about a Colorado project which i’m keen on knowing more about. Please post your actual results.Do you have before and after pics?
Also, previous comment on this post said you have forgot to mention the spiritual aspect of a healthy life balance, you said in your post that leaving the rat race isnt just about financial wealth, its about contentment, enlightenment,learning and being healthy. Isnt enlightenment all about having spiritual insight.
Great post and thanks.
@john carlton:
Yes John contentment is of utmost importance but comes in only One form which happens to also begin with the letter “c”. ……. But it is a definite capital letter “C” for sure! The so called enlightened do not always have the correct spiritual insights. There can only be one truth that is not only enlightening but entirely fullfilling! …………Three cheers to all three balance components with emphasis added on the most spiritual significant of all being the object of our faith placed correctly on “C”!
@Bill Groomes:
Hi Bill. Thanks for your comment. How would you like to write an article for Rat Race Winner just on Spritualism? I will publish it providing it fits in with the theme. Thanks
@lol:
Thanks for even considering what my thoughts are on the subject of a healthy spiritual balance. May I ask two questions first?
