About Me

Why I feel you should listen to me, rather than the 1000’s of other self-help authors and gurus

Born in 1976 into a large working class family, for the first 18 years of my life I lived in a run down council house on one of the overflow estates for Salford in Manchester. We were so poor I shared a bed with one of my brothers, used coats and curtains instead of blankets, had no form of heating, had an outside toilet and for breakfast and some evening meals, we ate white bread, mixed with sterilised milk, sprinkled with sugar (and lots of it to give it taste). All of this was a common story in the early 1900’s, but I experience this until the age of 18, only 15 years ago!

I Was Cute (What happened?)

I Was Cute (What happened?)

My father was a labourer, my mother was a cleaner and I watched my parents go to work every day for the minimum wage. They worked hard all year and saved for one annual event, a family holiday.  They worked untill the age of 65 and retired on a state pension with no savings. Although I was and stil am loved dearly by my parents, they were truly plugged in to the system. They had neither wisdom, wealth or life experience to pass on to their children.

I know what drove me to success, it was to find a better life than the life my parents had. To do so was hard, I had poor education (hence the bad grammar), no money, no wisdom, no contacts, no motivation. I genuinely did start with nothing from nothing. And it has taken many years of hard work, long hours and sacrifice to achieve my success.

I now have my own family, including my one year old son. When I look at his face; in to his big blue eyes, I see myself 33 years ago. Everything I do now, every descission I take, every time I make a new investment, I think about what is at stake if it all goes wrong, I question myself all the time. I am responsible for bringing in the money, to put food on the table, to privide for my family’s every need. It is hard, yet it is rewarding. Every time I receive a payment from an investment (passive
income), I smile, becasue 100% of the money I make, is 100% my family’s.

This is life outside of the Rat Race. It’s full of uncertainty, but it’s the best feeling you could every experience, because it is the feeling of freedom! My destiny is in my hands. I can not be fired or made redundant and I answer to no one (apart from mygorgeous partner).

I will never ever work for someone else again. If I lost everything tomorrow, I have the inner belief to start again and be successful again.  Working for someone else means security and a guarantee that

Enlightenment. True wealth is happy life experiences.

Enlightenment. True wealth is happy life experiences.

you will get paid at the end of a month. Working for yourself means you work when ever it is needed and you get paid all the time.

Now for the bad news, there are no true get rich quick schemes (which are legal and morally correct that is). Any person or Company telling you otherwise are con men and the only person making serious money is them.

If it seems to good to be true; it very often is! Business is hard and is not a walk in the park. Imprint these words into your brain and never forget them. When ever someone tries to sell you something, whether it be an investment or even a service which saves you money, check, double check and check again. Do your research and never go off what people outside of your circle are saying. Ignore this wisdom at your peril. I have lost thousands of pounds ignoring this statement and have learnt the hard way.

This isn’t an autobiography or sob story; I am who I am because of my upbringing. It motivates me every day to do better and be better. It’s important you know where and what I came from, so you realise that achieving financial freedom and escaping the rat race is very possible. Everything on this page is from my life and business experiences. I have left the ‘rat race’, and I invite you to do the same. If I can do it, you can too!

On a much lighter note my childhood experiences are worthy of another Lens page. They are funny yet educational… I learnt at a very young age what APR means. As a child I was interested in Snooker. My mother purchased a small black and white second hand TV as a birthday gift to me. Firstly I could never keep up with play as every ball was either black or white (the funny part), and finally she bought it from a TV Rental Company (loan sharks) and repaid £2.50 per week for 5 years (educational). That’s an APR of approximately 4000%!

The aim of this site is to pass on the experiences and the knowledge I have gained. I am not going to show you exactly what product or service you need to sell, I am going to show you how to find a product or service which is right for YOU, and then show you how to market and sell successfully.

My income comes from an engineering business, several property related companies, a portfolio of residential and commercial property investments and more recently from some online ventures and projects. I am passionate about all the products and services I sell and it is this reason why I am successful.

If I had to sell stationery for example, although I know I have the ability to sell it; I would have little drive and enthusiasm and therefore it will never be a good return on my time.

The ultimate key to enable you a good life outside of the Rat Race, is to generate multiple streams of income. Every business I have established initially took a lot of effort and dedication to set up, then I look at ways to automate the business; and once I know I can step back for at least a year with no detriment to turnover and profit I can then finally move on to the next project.
